Our Wednesday and Thursday evening classes run 6.20 – 8.45pm every week during academic term times.
The fee is £30 per class.
We operate waiting lists for joining these classes – please email hello@themakershed.co.uk to join one or both lists. When you get to the top of the list we will contact you to offer you a start date.
These classes are made up of a mix of woodworkers following the level 2 beginners and level 3 projects courses and all tuition is given on an individual basis at each student’s bench. You will be part of a group of students all at different stages of their projects, which makes for a rich and varied learning environment. Level 2 students can choose between the cabinet and the lidded box courses.
Evening classes must be taken consecutively and membership is on a rolling basis – once you join, you can stay a member of the class for as long as you like.
These are our estimates for how long it will take you to complete each course:
Woodwork for Beginners Level 2 – The Box: 12 – 16 evening classes
Woodwork for Beginners Level 2 – The Cabinet – 24 – 30 evening classes
Woodwork Level 3 Furniture Projects – as required for each project
One of the great things about these classes is that you can progress through the courses at your own pace. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can take their time, and faster workers or perhaps those with some woodwork experience already can work through the courses content more quickly. We can tailor your classes to meet your needs and preferences. Course materials are paid for separately and as you use them.
Once you join a class, you’ll have the option to either pay for blocks of eight classes or, set up a rolling subscription with payments for two classes taken every two weeks.
If you have to miss classes we do our best to fit you in to catch up the time. See FAQ for information on catch-up classes
