St Paul’s Repair Cafe is going from strength to st

St Paul’s Repair Cafe is going from strength to strength but we need more help to keep up with demand! We’re looking for volunteers to help with the running of the Repair cafe, this involves greeting visitors on arrival and checking-in items. If you don’t have repair skills but still want to get involved with this community initiative this is a great opportunity and an important role for the smooth running of the Repair Cafe! The Repair Cafe runs on every second Saturday of the month at St Paul’s Learning Centre, you don’t have to commit to every month, we’re looking to build a team of a few volunteers who can share the role. More Repair Volunteers are also welcome too! JAMES' GAMING TABLE! Many congratulations to James on the completion of his gaming table last week. Made entirely by hand from oak with many mortice & tenon and mitre joints; this is a huge achievement! The table top is made up of a number of leaves that can be removed to reveal an inner recess for playing board games. James has created grooves along the rail sides for holding accessories such as cup and card holders and even drainage channels for spills! TIGER OAK TABLE! Congratulations Helen on completing your beautiful tiger oak side table with mortice and tenon and dovetail joints. This table top is made with breadboard ends, which allow the wood to expand and contract through the seasons whilst keeping the centre sections nice and flat. The mortice and tenon joints of the table top are hidden within the side sections and pegged through from the underside. The level 1 course is great for people who are new to woodwork as well as those with some experience - we teach you how to use the tools accurately and efficiently from the start, producing great looking and structurally strong joinery. Bristol Wood Recycling Project is hiring a Workshop Team Member 4 or 5 days per week (£25,626 full time equivalent) The Workshop Team Member role provides a supporting role to the Workshop Coordinator and Workshop Team in the running of the Workshop at BWRP. This means the production of goods to generate income, customer and co-op administration, volunteer supervision, safe running and maintenance of the workshop and cooperative working.
